ACST Facebook Group |

Will Bignell has set up a Facebook group for the ACST. The group is just called "Aero Club of Southern Tasmania". This can be used as a means of promulgating news and events regarding the Aero Club and any activities of interest to members of the group. It is open to anybody who cares to join but you have to have a facebook account in order to submit articles, pictures etc to it.
It has now attracted over 100 members which isn't bad. I would encourage any ACST members who have a Facebook account to join the group and contribute to it. So far it does not have much on it. I've linked in all the You Tube videos that the club has created and there are a few pictures. From time to time I'll post items that I think are of interest, but in the end it will only really succeed if other members make submissions. Please use it if you have any pictures, news, links to videos, articles etc that you come across that may be of general interest to members of the group.
There are some particularly interesting photos of Cambridge in the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's submitted by Basil Fraser. The one from 1942 shows our club house with a verandah.
I am aware that there is a certain scepticism about Facebook, particularly among older people. However, you don't have to be a member of Facebook to look at public groups such as the ACST, so even those who have no Facebook account or interest in joining Facebook can still obtain news, articles and submissions that are made to it. The direct link to it is
